The Brooks

Réunis ensemble par leur amour et passion pour l’authentique Funk & Soul, The Brooks n’ont cessé de grandir depuis leur premier album sorti en 2014. Ils ont récemment pris part au Montréal International de Jazz en assurant la première partie de Charles Bradley et en mettant le feu deux fois sur la scène principale du festival grâce à leurs rythmes funky.

The Brooks ont aussi fait les premières parties des Doobie Brothers et Kool & The Gang.

Le band est un mélange d’électricité et de joyeuse énergie, une expérience remplie de grooves funky et de soul brillante, c’est une véritable célébration du moment présent tirant sa révérence au riche passé musical.

The Brooks recently impressed the crowds at Montreal International Jazz Festival.First by opening for Charles Bradley at the Metropolis, and then by playing 2 memorable shows
on the main stage of the festival. During last year's edition of the Montreal Jazz Festival, we saw them electrifying the stage at the Bell Center where they opened for The Doobie Brothers. They also played La Place des Arts with Kool & The Gang, and put out an incredible performance during a dazzling tribute to the late Prince at the Metropolis .

Their first instrumental opus Adult Entertainment was released in 2014 and their highly anticipated second album called Pain & Bliss, which presented a more mature and refined
sound, was released in 2016. Wherever The Brooks go, they leave their audience captivated by their talent and dynamism, worthy of some of the biggest names in the Funk, Soul and R&B scene.

Franky Selector

Adepte du style musical Quiet Storm, FrankySelector crée une musique enracinée dans la tradition soul mais la réinterprète de façon actuelle et dynamique. Son collage soigneusement façonné est formé de percussions, de cuivres et de synthés analogues qui soutiennent sa voix feutrée.
Le résultat est indéniablement authentique et entraînant; il confère à sa musique une dimension personnelle et une touche vintage moderne.

Après avoir multiplié les apparitions à des festivals de jazz reconnus qu Québec (Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, Festival Jazz Ect de Lévis, Festival Jazz et Blues du Saguenay...), son second album, Shabby Chic sortira en juillet 2017.

FrankySelector est musicien professionnel depuis 1995. Son projet précédent, Skyjuice, a foulé les planches en même temps que Ben Harper, The Herbaliser et autres Groove Collective.

Being a founding member and the main composer of the Montreal sensation Skyjuice, lead singer FrankySelector never lost his groove. Coming from a mixed cultural background, FrankySelector feels at home in a fusion of musical styles refusing to be trapped in a particular genre or form. One way to describe his music would be «QuietStrom». His lyrical style is closely related to the Spoken Word tradition and his unique voice is his trademark signature.

Franky has been a go-to collaborator for many musicians along the way. Recently, he produced an album for New Apple Tasteand played live with aRTIST oF tHE yEAR, Lucien Francoeur, Stephane Moraille & James Di Salvio (Bran Van 3000), The National Parcs, Coco Café and Future Shock. Franky is also a savvy DJ.
